When a lock is rekeyed, the locking mechanism is changed, so your original key will not work! The tiny pins inside your locks are changed and will require a new key that is cut to match. Bada-bing bada-boom! Your lock is rekeyed! Typically, this kind of service may take 10–15 minutes. Of course, times can vary depending on the condition of your lock as well as other factors such as previous work done to the lock or door.

  • Best time to rekey your locks!

It is recommended anytime you are changing owners of a home, you get rekey done. This can mean new tenants, new home purchase, new roommate, etc. You never know who may have an old key. Better safe than sorry! With NWI Locksmiths, after
