We've all been in a situation where we have had to rush out of the house. Maybe we're getting the kids ready for school, or perhaps we stepped out just for a moment to take out the garbage or maybe walk the dog, and then we realize….oops! We go to get back in our home and the door is locked.
Here are a few lockout prevention tips to try and prevent this and what to do if it happens:
Tip 1: Set your keys on or directly next to your wallet and/or purse.
Tip 2: Have a back-up key! This key can be kept in your wallet or maybe a safe place on your property so you can get to it if necessary.
Tip 3: Consider changing to an electronic lock. This way, a pin is all that’s required to get back in your home.
If you should happen to get locked out of your home, contact your local locksmith. We here at NWI Locksmiths treat every person as top priority. However, we absolutely believe in doing your due diligence. Given the numerous scams in the field of Locksmithing we recommend doing your proper research and vetting of any locksmith you call to your property.
